Financial Business Controller

What will you do?
As the Financial Business Controller at Sunvest, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company and its project entities, including financial administration, planning, reporting, risk management, and investor relations. Sunvest has an operational portfolio of 12 project companies in The Netherlands and a development portfolio in The Netherlands and France.
The scope of this role will include:
- Financial administration: managing the financial administration, performing the controlling tasks for the company itself and its (currently) 12 operational project companies
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Financial Reporting on Sunvest level: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Dutch GAAP and international standards
- Financial and administrative obligations of the operational projects, which involve payments and reporting to senior and/or junior debt providers, other payment obligations and settlements, invoicing and annual and internal reporting
- Preparing financial reports to the shareholders and external parties such as (co-)shareholders and lenders, and coordinating the timely receival of required information
- Investor Relations: maintain relationships with financiers, investors, analysts, and other stakeholders, providing clear and accurate financial communication
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to protect the company’s assets and profitability
You will report to the managing directors of Sunvest and work from our office in Utrecht.
Required education and attributes
You should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, for instance at a real estate or project development company. Experience within the renewable energy sector is a plus. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance, or economics (or equivalent) is required. In addition, you should demonstrate:
- Strong analytical skills, eye for detail and high-quality standards
- Proficiency in using Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- The ability to take initiatives and responsibility for allocated tasks
- Good interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written in Dutch and English (an additional language such as French or German would be a great plus)
- Personal interest in sustainable business
- Hands-on, honest, reliable and able to juggle with a range of different tasks and stakeholders
- A willingness and ability to work in cross border teams
